Get Creative - September 5 card challenge

Hello from the beautiful island of Lesvos!!!

Yes, yes, finally, the time for my holidays has come! When most people come back from their holidays, it's my turn to leave ;o)

But in the meantime, we shouldn't forget... we have the first card challenge for September over at Get Creative!!!

This time, we challenge you to make a card based on the following picture:

So here's the card that I made:

The main inspiration was, obviously, the colour combo. But then I was also inspired by the layout of the photo. I placed the flower where the mirror is, the sentiment and the banner where the furniture is, the birds where the lamps are. The circles around the mirror inspired the dotty background.

I wanted to give dimension to the flower. So I stamped it six times for six levels and for each level I was cutting more petals of the flower. A close-up so you can get an idea:

The brad that I used in the middle of the flower was originally yellow. As I didn't have a white brad at the size that I wanted, I took the yellow one, inked it with white ink and covered it with white embossing powder. Once the powder was melted and before it cooled down, I covered it with white embossing powder and melted it again. I repeated one more time and the white brad was ready! This is a very good trick to change the colour of metallic embellishments that you have.

So that's all from me now... Come over at Get Creative for amazing inspiration by the design team and to see the present that the challenge winner will get! You have until September 29th to participate with your cards.

Hugs,
Anastasia
