Yeah... blogger is back!
I have noticed that after a business trip I usually lose my card mojo for a few days. This happened again after my travel last week :S
Finally last night, while preparing an ink chart, testing and comparing different types of inks, my mojo came back. Inspired by the stamps I was using for the chart, my aunt's birthday a couple of days ago, Get Creative challege to prepare a birthday card (but not for a child!) and the amazing colours of Kathy's second Colour Throw Down at Lily Pad cards... I prepared the following card:
I tried the new Tim Holtz distress ink stains (antique linen). So here's my advice: first colour your paper with the distress stain, let it dry, and then stamp your images to the paper. I have done this before and it worked great. For this card, I did it the other way round – I first stamped my images and once they dried, I used the distress ink stain. You see how it turned out, in some parts distress stain is stronger than other parts. Some other mistakes, where the coloured ink was smeared with the distress ink stain is hidden below the ribbon... After all, Tim Holtz says “embrace imperfection, right? ;o)
Anyway, I will submit this card to the following challenges:
- Get Creative May 5th - Birthday card - but not for a child
- Lily Pad Cards - Kathy's Color Throw Down May 2011 with the following colours combination:
I hope you like it!
Materials used:
- The blue lace was a gift from Enjoy Scrapping – thank you Lena!
- White cardstock from stash
