Butterfly card for Wee Memories

Last night I was surfing the internet for card making inspiration, and I found the Wee Memories website. I loved their challenges, the DT creations, everything! So I thought I would give it a try for their current challenge #41, which you can find here.

The theme of the challenge is the following sketch:

And here is my interpretation:

Valentine card #2

This is the second Valentine card that I prepared, and with which I would like to participate to the following challenges:

Lexi's Creations #32 - Valentines
CYDA #12 - Love
A Spoonfull of Sugar #136 - Valentine
Crafts and Me #22 - Monochrome (I have used only green colour)
Delightful Challenges - Have a Heart
Charisma Cardz #4 - Valentines/Love
Paper Sundaes #53 - Distressing (I have inked and roughed the edges of the papers)
Mark's Finest Papers #40 - Valentine card
One Stop Craft Challenge #116 - Anything goes

With this card for the first time I used a technique I wanted to try for a time now: I embossed my stamp image on white cardstock with white embossing powder, then I coloured the paper with Distress Ink. I really like the result, so I'm sure to use this technique again (and buy more distress inks I guess... oh boy!).

I also used for the first time Sizzix Textured Impressions to some dry embossing. The result was soooo impressive, I couldn't believe it myself! I am afraid it will be hard for me to go back to my Fiskars embossing plates now!

So, the materials I used are:

- Papers:
   - White cardstock
   - Whitewash collection by Core'dinations
   - Pyrus by Basic Grey

- Stamps:
   - Tree stamp from Hero Arts
   - Sentiment stamps... I don't remember which company! I *think* Papermania?
   - Tinted embossing stamp pad

- Seafoam white embossing powder by Papermania
- Distress inks Peeled Paint and Frayed Burlap
- Burlap - Jim Holtz Alterations embossing folder
- Nellie Snellen oval die cut
- Ribbon from my stash

Hope you like it! Pin It

Valentine's card #1

OMG, it's been more than three weeks that I haven't posted anything! There are two reasons for that:

1. work, work, work... and business travels and
2. I have to admit that I cannot find my camera charger! For those who know me, this is not a surprise, as I keep losing things :S Anyway, I've tried to make some photos with my iphone, but the quality is so low that I cannot use them for the blog. By the time I actually publish this post, I should have visited a shop to buy another charger.

So, back to craft then. To be sincere, I've never really been a Valentine's day fan, however... who can resist the really cute stamps with hearts and whatnot?

So I am preparing a few Valentine cards that I will give to friends.

This is the first card that I prepared, which is inspired by Vicky in Clips-n-Cuts - if you haven't visited the site, I strongly recommend it, the cards are simply a-ma-zing and she has a weekly tutorial video as well, which I never miss.

So, given that the card was inspired from someone else's card, I decided that it wouldn't be fair to submit it to any challenges. Straight to the materials then:

- Stamps "Whoo Loves You" by Hero Arts
- Tinted embossing stamp pad by Tsunitseko
- Seafoam white embossing powder by Papermania
- White and red cardstock
- Feeling Groovy - Deena's Penny Lane by My Mind's Eye paper
- Basics kraft paper pad by Basic Grey
- 3d foam stickers Pin It

First card of the year

Sooo.... first of all, may I wish you all a VERY HAPPY 2011!!!!! Let's see what awaits for us this year...

2010 didn't end so well for me, as I have been ill with fever and whatnot. I still don't feel 100%, so I went to the doctor today and it turns out I have to take some antibiotics. Oh well, as long as I finally get better!

Ok then, back to crafts. I've been quite busy in the interims when the fever would allow my brain to work for a while, preparing the Christmas presents. As soon as I get the photos that the... photographer took, I will upload them to the blog.

In the meantime, much as I love Christmas, I have to admit that I was looking forward to doing a card with a different theme and different colours. So I took a look at the current challenges and found some amazing inspiration as always. So, this is what I came up with at the end (apologies for the really bad quality of the photo, but once again I cannot find the charger for my camera, so I had to use my mobile phone... :S):
