Hello!!!
We have a new challenge over at Addicted to CAS today. The code word is Flower and I made this card:
It's been a week now that I have absolutely no inspiration for anything. For this card I had a couple of ideas, but as soon as I started putting them together, I didn't like the result at all.
Finally yesterday afternoon - talking about last minute! - I got this idea of using my favourite doodle flowers stamps by Stephanie Ackerman and Purple Onion. The flower is the same, only the centre of the flower changes. I stamped it four times using masks to protect the already stamped images and Stampamajig to control exactly where I was stamping, as the stamps are not clear.
Then I coloured the flowers with watercolour pencils and finally I doodled the frame with Micron pens.
Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo Stamps who generously offer a pack of 7 digi's from their store!
So come over at Addicted to CAS to get inspiration by the design team and to play along with us!
I hope you like it!
Hugs,
Anastasia

Magia (=spell)
Once again I think how lucky I am that I have found this hobby. This last week things have been difficult due to a health problem in the family. So at night, when I come back home without any strength or mood to go anywhere or talk to anyone, but still can't sit there without doing anything, I find peace in my craft room. First I came up with the layout I am going to share with you today. Now I have no more inspiration left, so I'm reorganising my craft room - again!
The layout:
My friends know how crazy I am about cats. I love dogs too, but I'm not as crazy about them as with cats. With only one exception: Magia.
"Magia" in Greek means "spells". So Magia was the dog of an old friend of mine and they gave her that name because "she had put a spell on all of us". Even though Magia left us a few years ago, I never forget her - she really was the only dog that managed to steal my heart. I guess she put a spell on me as well ;)
The photos were old so I changed them to black and white - Magia was a black cocker with white details, so this wouldn't change how she looked. I tried to remove the red (white) eyes flash effect but she looked like an alien. Well, I'm going to learn that trick some day!
I think this is the darkest layout I've ever made... I just hope that my mood has nοt - not do justice to Magia (if you know what I'm trying to say here?). With the red hearts I tried to express my feelings for her.
The layout is based on the following sketch by Sketches in Thyme for which I am Guest Designer this month:
And for the first time I managed to solve a CSI Case File! You can find Case file 66 here
Apart from the colour scheme which I have followed, I have used the following Elements from the Evidence list:
- Arrows
- Hearts
- Flairs (the two button flairs)
- Dog accent (the paws around the vellum paper)
- Doodle (the frame around the layout)
As for the testimony... well, as I said at the beginning, this layout is about my old friend's dog and where her name came from.
I hope you like it!
Hugs,
Anastasia

Addicted to CAS #10 - Friend
Hello!
Today it's my turn to host the new challenge over at Addicted to CAS! The word I've chosen is friend:
And the card that I made:
I used watercolour paper and pencils, brushes and water. The words "friends" are Paper Smooches dies and the rest of the sentiment is rub-on alphabet.
I chose this word and made this card thinking of all the wonderful ladies I have met the last 2,5 years thanks to this hobby and the many new friends I have made. You really mean so much to me ladies!
And before this gets too soppy, a close-up photo (sorry the quality is not the best, I'm still learning my new camera!)
I used glitter gelly roll on the hearts and added more watercolour paper behind the word friends, but used foam adhesive to give it some depth...
I hope you like it, I'm not very satisfied with the result... Really, can someone please bring back my card mojo???
So come over at Addicted to CAS to see the amazing cards the design team has prepared and to play along with us. Our sponsor for this challenge is All that scraps with the cutest stamps and dies ever! The winner will get 3 rubber stamps from the CC designs range OR 5 digital stamps!
Hugs,
Anastasia

Sketches in Thyme #107 - Guest designer
Hello... again!
One after the other come the layouts this month!
This time the layout I want to share with you is for Sketches in Thyme for which I am Guest Designer for the second time :D
The layout:
Based on the following beautiful sketch:
As you see I followed it quite closely.
This time I thought that, for a change, I wasn't going to use any stamps... so I used quite a lot of rub-ons, especially for doodling ;)
Although it's not very clear on the picture, the photo is about Andrea's hand trying to reach at Lola... I'm so happy he seems to love my cats, lol!
So come over at Sketches in Thyme for great inspiration by the design team and to play with this gorgeous sketch!
Today also starts a DT call over at Sketches in Thyme! If you are interested, come here to see all the information.
Hope you like it,
Hugs,
Anastasia

This is a woman's world
Hello again!
Another layout for today. For April, Katerina asks us to create something inspired by the title of a song for Scrapbookers in Greece.
I loved the challenge and as soon as I heard about it I had two ideas... But for some reason I just couldn't work with them. I tried and tried, nada.
And as I was enjoying my last coffee in Corfu city before heading to the airport for my flight back home, I heard the song "Woman" by Neneh Cherry and the inspiration came to me instantly.
And here's the result:
It is one of the layouts that I really enjoyed making. I was in good mood, with positive thoughts and thus the positive messages I have chosen.
As the theme was "Woman", I remembered the challenge organised by scrapbooking.gr. When I checked it and saw the colours, I got even more inspiration. The challenge, inspired by Melenia, has a sketch, a colour combo and a techique (layering). You can find it here (well, in Greek ;) ):
So what are you waiting for? Come over at Scrapbookers in Greece to see how the challenge has inspired the design team and to play along with us!
And here's the song... dedicated to all of us! ;)
I hope you like it,
Hugs,
Anastasia

Get Creative - April 1st
Good morning!!!
A new month today and of course this means a new challenge over at Get Creative.
My layout...
...exactly two years ago! I made this layout on March 19th 2011, and the following one two days ago:
There is a "slight" difference, don't you think???
I have to admit that I enjoyed this challenge SO MUCH! The challenge is about re-doing one of our very first challenges, using exactly the same photos but with the style that we have developed in the meantime. I wanted to make my very first layout, but the quality of the photos I had used was so bad that hard as I tried, I couldn't "save" them enough to use them for a layout (that says something, doesn't it???)
So I decided to redo the second layout I ever made. This was two years ago with minimal scrapbooking materials as back then I was only making cards. Actually I really started with layouts about a year ago, once my nephews were born, as I was suspecting and as our guru Eleni kept warning me ;)
In this last year I have experimented with a number of techniques and styles (although not all styles, hihihi) and lately I'm going towards a style like the one I made two days ago. On purpose I used all my favourite products that I tend to use for my layouts: thickers, wood veneers, flair buttons, rub ons, enamel dots, stamps, mists, doodling, labels, vellum paper...
And for first time I used the products that I think will get into the list of my favourite products, distress paints. I have loved the results of all the tests I've done so far both on paper and wood veneers!
So... too much talking, time to put an end to that!
Come over at Get Creative to see how the design team has re-done their old layouts, to have fun and play with us!
Our sponsor this month is our own Irini and Get Creative Embellishments with their new embellishments!
Hugs,
Anastasia
