Anya Birthday Card

Since Thursday I have headache every day and I feel sooo sleepy... today I tried to make a birthday card for a lady, but I had completely lost my mojo. Usually I get some inspiration once I get started, but today I couldn't start anything!

Then I remembered a birthday card I prepared for my cousin a while ago that I hadn't posted yet. I used one of my favourite stamps, Anya from The Greeting Farm. Isn't she adorable?

The colours of the card are a bit darker that what the photo shows....

Hope you like it!

I think I'm going early to bed today...

Get Creative - March 10 Challenge

Finally today I did my second layout ever...  for the Get Creative Challenge of March 10.

Inspirations, first the following sketch by Chryssa for Get Creative.

And second... Marilou, the kitten born in my house a month ago. I am trying to find a cat-friendly house for her, as I already have three cats and I cannot keep her. She is so cute and nice that it will be hard to give her away :(

So, the papers are Alphabet Soup of My Mind's Eye. I prepared the pennants and the flowers with my new Silhouette SD which I received only yesterday - and I am thrilled!

But I do have a problem with photos... I can never take a good photo that would do justice to the colours. I will have to look for tips online, or to buy a new camera (not my preferred option obviously). If I manage to take a better photo tomorrow, I will replace this one.

Hope you like it!

Get Creative challenge March 1

This is the second birthday card I had to prepare recently. It is for my cousin - we grew up together and we both loved Sarah Kay, so I thought that a card with a Sarah Kay stamp would fit the occasion ;o)

For this card I followed Get Creative's recipe for the March 1st challenge that I would like to participate:

- 1 pattern paper: from Hippy Chic - DCWV
- 1 card stock: again from Hippy Chic
- 1 strip of ribbon/lace: white ribbon from my stash
- 1 button or brad: a flower brad
- 1 die cut: oval die cut
- 1 title: sentiment stamp from papermania
- 1 picture: Sarah Kay stamp from Stampavie

Well, I also used a bit of icicle stickles... and ProMarker pens. I don't remember the colours I have used (but I would have preferred it if I had coloured the hat green.... but it was too late when I thought of that!). Oh, I also used Distress Ink - Peeled Paint for inking the papers all around.

Also, for the first time I prepared a kind-of concertina card... It is so easy to make once you have figured out where you should fold your base card.

Pink Gem Design Challenge #16

Hello again!

It's been a while since my last post... Work has been unbelievable for some days, then I was feeling too tired and felt like I had lost my card mojo... Luckily, a few friends/cousins of mine had birthdays in the last few days, so I had to find my mojo again and prepare some cards!

This card is for a 31 years old "boy" ... or "about 8 years old" as he wants to believe, since his birthday is on February 29! Thus this gorgeous "Andy boy" stamp from Pink Gem Designs that I was looking forward to use. Isn't he adorable?

As my friend likes cats (he and his girlfriend have two cats...), I thought I would play with a cat theme, so I had to cut the dog from the stamp :S

I also used the following "A Gem of a Challenge" sketch, so I would like to submit the card for the challenge #16. I just turned the sketch upside down ;o)

Recipe:
- Stamps:
  - Andy with snail from Pink Gem Designs
  - Lily of the Valley circular sentiment
  - Cat paws... I don't remember any details :S
  - Memento Tuxedo Black inkpad
  - Colorbox fluid chalk cat's eye: Yellow ochre, Dark moss, Chestnut Roan

- ProMarkers: Ivory, Blush, Honeycomb, Shale, Burnt Sienna, Cocoa, Sunflower, Gold, Tulip Yellow

- Papers: Stella and Rose - Hattie Papers from My Mind's Eye (I am in love with the Stella and Rose paper pads! Just received them last week and I will be using them quite a lot!)

- Diecut/Punches:
  - Nestabilities - standard circles large
  - Sizzix - nesting swirls set #2
  - EK Success - paw print punch
