First crop in Thessaloniki...

Yesterday was a FABULOUS day... It was the first crop in Thessaloniki and I had the pleasure to participate.

We had a really great day. I met many cyber friends that internet has brought us close but the geographic distance is quite significant. But yesterday we proved that even this can be overcome ;o)

As you may imagine, the whole day was full of talk, exchange of know-how, techiques and opinions over products, more personal talk (of course!), food (after all, we were in Thessaloniki, with the best food in Greece in my humble opinion!)... but also creation! I really didn't think I was going to do anything, but at the end I managed to finish two layouts and start a third one which I finished today.

So I wanted to say a huge thank you to the participants... In alphabetical order:

AigliAlexChristinaElenaEleniElinaGogoKaterina AlexiouKaterina LaiopoulouKaterina (Sfragidomania)LefkiMaria TsilvidouMaria TsimirikaMarie, Natasa, Natasa TsoufOlgaRaniaRoulaStellaVivika.

And of course a SPECIAL thank you to Gogo who organised this so perfectly!

So let me show you what I did...

The first layout is for my nephew Nikola. I wish I could show you his sweet-sweet face, but I cannot do that ;o)

The second layout is from my "Amelie-style" photos - here is about my latest trip to Prague last Tuesday:

Finally, I thought I would experiment with something different for me - bright colours, simple lines and layout. However I'm not thrilled with the final results, at least now I know that this type of layouts are not for me ;o)

So that's it...

I really can't find the words to explain what a great time I had yesterday, not to mention creative. The tiredness at the end of the day (well, and today to be sincere) is of no importance!

I hope we meet again soon...

Hugs,
Anastasia

Get Creative June card sketch challenge

Hello from beautiful Prague! Today I got a picture of myself  "Amelie" style in front of the astronomical clock... soon you will see a layout ;o)

But... back to the reason of this post. It's 20th of the month today and of course we have a new card sketch challenge for June at Get Creative, with the following sketch:

And the card that I made:

First I turned the sketch around. Then, I used the greek words "Ο πρίγκηπάς μου", which means "My prince" and it is chipboard from Sfragidomania as the background in the middle of the card. The idea to combine this phrase with a frog is, of course, of our guru Eleni!

And a closer photo to see the dimension of the card:

Isn't he soooo cute? The stamp and the papers are from Lawn Fawn ;ο)

Why don't you get over at Get Creative to get inspired from the beautiful creations of the design team... we'll be very happy if you play with us! Our sponsor this month is the new Etsy shop Get Creative Embellishments of our very own Irini!!! The lucky winners (one from the layout challenges and the other from the card challenges) will win two packs of embellishments handame by Irini!

We'll be waiting for you!

Hugs,
Anastasia

PS: I will provide the supplies I have used once I'm back from my trip...

Scrapbookers in Greece online crop

Last weekend I broke every record of creativity...

We had an online crop over at Scrapbookers in Greece and thanks to the challenges set within 48 hours I managed to make a card, two layouts, one tag, one altered project and a framed decoration... and two destroyed ATC. Well, they are not going to escape, at the end I will make an ATC!

So... here is what I made...

First, I was delighted to be asked to prepare a card challenge. The challenge I chose was to make a card with smiles. Be it the images or the sentiment, I wanted to see smiles on the cards, something we really need in Greece these days! And here's the card I prepared for inspiration:

Then on Saturday I started with Katerina's first challenge της Κατερίνας. The layout is from my recent trip to London with a friend of mine:

Then I made a tag for the third challenge by Irini that asked us to make a card with butterflies:

Then I made a layout for the fourth challenge by Eleni, a bingo challenge. I enjoyed this layout very much, it is for my nephew Andreas, his grandmother is Norwegian (obviously not my aunt, the other grandmother!) and I bought him the shirt he's wearing from Copenhagen last month...

Then I did the ninth challenge by Roula this time. This was a multiple challenge for me, as she has asked us to alter an item and use flowers, butterflies and glitter... :S... ok, so sometimes I might use each of the elements separately, but never all together! And to make it even more challenging for me, I made it in dark pink colour, lol! But on the other hand I was glad to reach to my old decoupage materials and make a box. Thanks Eleni for the flowers you gave me! (oh yes, I don't even have flowers in my stash! lol!)

Last but not least, the second challenge with tvcrafts.gr. As soon as I read about the challenge, I knew what I wanted to do, something that I liked very much from the very first time I saw the video. So here's my Christmas tree, in the middle of June with 30+ C! If you like it, you can find the video here (hmmm... although it's in Greek!).

So that's it from me... I hope you like it! I wish I could have participated in the other challenges as well, but I didn't have enough time... and I had disastrous accidents with my ATC cards!

But I have to admit that I had a GREAT time and I was really astonished by the incredible creations and talent of the Greek scrapbookers/papercrafters! Bravo!!!

Get Creative June 5th

Hello!

How are you? I hope everything's ok?

So... it's the 5th of the month and of course we have a new card challenge over at Get Creative today! The theme? To make a window card! You can cut the window out on the card or you can stamp a window image or use a die cut... Get creative with windows!!!

...well, I'm living in Athens city centre, so the view from my window isn't the best one could have, so I made a fantastic scene that I would prefer to see...

So, the front side of the card:

I cut the window out with my Silhouette SD and used acetate to give the sense of a window. So you can see a bit the inside of the card, which is the following:

Isn't it cute? Paper Smooches stamps are one of my favourite ones! It took me some time to prepare the card and that's because I was trying out my new Distress Markers. Colouring stamps is not what I enjoy most and given the stamps that I like to use for my cards, this could be a small issue. That's why paper piecing is one of my favourite techniques.

But I thought of trying Distress markers and I wasn't disappointed at all! You colour your stamps, use a bit of water and you're ready! I liked it very, very much. Although I didn't avoid the fussy cutting, as I wanted to give dimension to the scene I was preparing:

So that's my card... Let's go now to the sponsor of the month. Super-talented Irini Liolia just opened her new Etsy store, Get Creative Embellishments with GOOOORGEOUS embellishments for our creations! So she's giving two embellishment sets to this month's winners!

So why don't you come over at Get Creative to see some amazing inspiration by the design team and play with us? We'll be waiting for you!

Oh, and something else. I have been asked a number of times how I provide you with the supplies I have used using the small icons at the end of my posts. For this I use Link Manager by Inlinkz... and you know who is behind it, right? It's Vicky from Clips and Cuts and her husband Aris! So Vicky is having a giveaway over at her blog, you can take a look here!

A mini album for Ioanna

Hello!

Trying out a few new things today... I thought of preparing a video to show you the mini album I prepared for Ioanna! If you haven't visited the blog of this beautiful 6 months old lady... well you have to! (ok, it's written in Greek, but that's not a problem anymore with Google translate, right?). Ioanna and her parents can teach us great things about how we face life. The purpose of the site is to make SMA - Spinal Muscular Atrophy know to the wide audience - I hadn't heard that before finding this blog either. It really worths the while to visit the blog.

I was very touched from the story and her parents' decision to make the most of Ioanna's life, their strength and their decision to make SMA more known to public. So I thought of making a mini album that can be enormously improved with photos and memories of Ioanna's first summer.

As I was taking all these photos today to show you the mini album I thought "no way I'm going to post all those photos!". So I decided to try and make a video. This is my very first attempt, so please bear with me! (I don't like the yellow tint of the video, but after I added the music and the subtitles, I could change it... and I just couldn't start from scratch once again!)

The supplies are from the Hello Summer kit that Lena of Enjoy Scrapping has put together. I also used ribbonts that Kiriakoula send me together with the gift that I won at her blog - thank you Kiriakoula!

I hope you like it!

Anastasia
